Welcome to the Life of Brian

Since you are already here, please take a minute to learn more about me.

It all started for me in the "Star City of the South". And for those of you who don't know about it, let me be the first to introduce it to you. The Star City of the South is more commonly known as Roanoke, a valley nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia.

As a youngster growing up with my grandparents, I developed a passion for German. My grandfather, a WWII veteran, was shot in action. Fortunately, he lived to tell the story. Unable to work because of his injuries, he spent most of his life reliving the memories through war movies. So, over the years of countless World War II classics, I developed a desire to understand the German which was spoken in most of these movies. Eventually, I started to learn German in junior high school.

Before I knew it, high school was coming to a mach-speed close and I had to decide which path to take: college or work. Well... I don't know about the rest of you, but working for the rest of my life is not my intention. So, I chose college to prolong my freedom as long as I could. And, where else would I go besides a school that had one of the nicest campuses and affordable? Virginia Tech!!. That's right, I'm a Hokie!

So, then I had to choose what course of study. That was way more than I wanted to think about as a senior in high school, so I chose German. Why not, I enjoyed learning the language. Then, after three years in Blacksburg, I was ready for a change of culture. Where to? Germany and Austria. Why? To learn the language, meet some incredible people and drink some of the finest beer in the world.

This was the best experience in the world. I highly recommend going abroad for year to anyone wanting find themselves. I surely did. It made me realize that "You're not in Roanoke, anymore!"

After 4 1/2 years of university and a degree, I was well on my way. I didn't know which way, but I soon figured it out.

Arlington, Virginia is where I presently live. It is a great location because of its proximity to Washington, DC. I have great friends and it is exciting working in a high tech area, which translates into jobs opportunities. Speaking of jobs, I work for a computer security company. I'll spare you the details. However, you can look at my resume.

If you are interested in learning about publicly-traded companies in the information security industry, I have compiled information including their names, addresses and ticker symbols. COMING SOON!!!

Last item of interest! I recently took a vacation to tropical paradise. (Hint: near Africa).....Mauritius. It is an small tropical island in the Indian Ocean located off the eastern coast of Afria and Madagascar. It is almost completely surrounded by coral reef making it safe from those lovely sea creatures best observe from cages...sharks. I will have some pictures posted shortly.

That's me standing in the middle of the picture!

There's your peek into the Life of Brian. Hope you enjoyed the view.
